Playhouse Village Foundation Inaugural Fund Surpasses $100,000 Goal

Posted July 10, 2023, under PVF News

The Playhouse Village Foundation (PVF) Inaugural Fund just topped its initial $100,000 goal, reached in just over a year since its founding. This fundraising success is due to the enthusiasm and generosity of our supporters who want to create a vibrant urban village in the heart of Pasadena. “Reaching the $100,000 goal for this brand-new Foundation is extremely gratifying and reflects strong support from our community for the work we are doing to create a thriving Playhouse Village,” exclaimed PVF Chair Phil Hawkey. “We thank each and every one of our donors and sponsors for helping us achieve this initial goal.”

The PVF leverages this extensive community support to create exciting changes in Playhouse Village such as the “Jazz in the Park” concert series, hosted by the PVF through the generous sponsorship by The Ice House, continuing through July every Sunday at 5 pm.  Other Playhouse Village Park summer programming initiatives made possible by the PVF will include a movie series, new shade umbrellas and giant games. Looking ahead to fall, “Bark at the Park” is planned to return – a fun Halloween-themed event for dogs and their happy owners.

The PVF has also been instrumental in funding Colorado Boulevard’s Village Al Fresco Pavilions, which will soon glow with attractive lighting. Long-term ambitions the PVF seeks to support include the further beautification and enhancement of Colorado Boulevard, as well as comprehensive streetscape plans for Lake Avenue between Colorado Blvd. and the 210 freeway and the Mentor Avenue Entertainment District.

You can play a part, too, in enhancing a vibrant Playhouse Village by donating online at playhousevillagefoundation.org/donate.  Learn more about PVF projects and events at playhousevillagefoundation.org.

The PVF is grateful to our Playhouse Village friends, neighbors, business and property owners and all who contribute to making our community a better place to live, play, work and visit. You make all this possible!
