Our Mission:
To support a thriving urban community in Pasadena’s Playhouse Village

The Playhouse Village Foundation (PVF) is a 501(c)3 charitable organization established to support the Playhouse Village Association’s priority initiatives to improve and activate public spaces, streets and sidewalks. With a targeted purpose, the PVF aims to leverage private donations, sponsorships and grants to further enhance Playhouse Village in the Heart of Pasadena.

Some priority initiatives that the PVF supports include:

Street Dining Experience on
Colorado Boulevard

As Playhouse Village recovers from the pandemic, these dining pavilions provide a welcoming, inspiring setting for a more permanent outdoor dining presence on world-famous Colorado Boulevard. Opportunities exist for corporate sponsorships and donations with recognition and visibility in the most visible part of Playhouse Village.

Shade at Van Halen Stage

Playhouse Village Park has been embraced by the community, as evident by their support of PVF’s efforts for shade umbrellas for the Van Halen Stage. The neighbors came together and gathered funds to donate to so that the Foundation could purchase 5 new umbrellas for the seating area. There are other opportunities for individuals interested in making a donation for on-going maintenance and enhancement of this and other park amenities.

Playhouse Village Park Opening Celebration and Programming

The area’s first urban park opened in September 2022 with a community celebration, ushering in a new era in park maintenance and activation in Pasadena. PVF-supported activities range from music concerts and outdoor movies to giant games and dog-themed events. Opportunities exist for future event sponsorships, business promotion activities, and individual donations for ongoing programming and maintenance.

The successful Jazz in the Park returned last summer to Playhouse Village Park with free jazz concerts in June and July 2023. Over 3,000 people enjoyed the summer concert series at the park, thanks to the generosity of our sponsor, Ice House Comedy Club. During intermission at each concert, Ice House host Chill entertained the audience with comedy, games and unique prizes.

Playhouse Village Foundation celebrated the end of summer with Movies in the Park, a free outdoor movie series generously sponsored by Pasadena Playhouse. Thanks to their donation, the community was invited to bring a blanket and enjoy free popcorn and a movie under the stars with family and friends at Playhouse Village Park on select evenings in August.
